Nearly 200 concerned residents gathered at the corner of Parkcliffe and Hudson Avenues in Youngstown's Newport Neighborhood on the evening of July 6 to take a stand.  Clergy leaders, association leaders and residents spoke out against the drugs, violence and namely, excessive speeding and traffic violations occurring in the neighborhood.

Action organizers said they came together in hopes of getting help and notice from polical leaders in addressing the issues plaguing the neighborhood.  The Rev. Kenneth Paramore, pastor of the Christiian Revival and Discipleship Center,addressed the crowd regarding the issues they are facing.

“Sometimes it calls for a civil confrontation...to say to our city leaders, ‘We need your help,’” Paramore was quoted as saying in "The Vindicator."
